Hi everyone,
I'm 18 and will be on the Spirit on the 24th. I've heard 18 y/o's can have beer and wine. Is this true? Are there any restrictions to this such as time of day, and is beer and wine included or will I be charged for it?

Joel, my understanding also is beer and wine at 18, hard stuff 21. yes, you will be charged. Wine can run from about $4.00 to $7.00 a glass. As for beer I don't drink it so do not know the prices. NMNita

PS have a great cruise and let us know about it when you return.

I don't think so - NCL's policy is 21 for drinking and gambling - no beer and wine for 18 year olds - some lines i beleive RCL and Celebrity do allow 18 year old to have beer and wine so unless you are cruising the Mexican Riveria where the age is 18 you won't be able to drink in port either although BC's age is 19.
The cruise ships can usually tell from your shipboard card whether you are old enough to be served - you probably will be able to grab some of the free bubbly that is handed out freely during the Captain's welcome party - usually on the first full night at sea or the first formal night.

Dennis, you may be right. yes, you are correct about Celebrity and RCI and yes, they can tell by your boarding pass. They use a different pass for those under age. NMNita

Just read my NCL brochure that came with my docs and it clearly states that you must be 21 years of age to drink and gamble on any of their ships.
