Hi,

I am a first time cruiser with NCL. I would like to know how long it will take to get off the ship when we get back into port. I'd like to book return travel without waiting needlessly. My first cruise was with Carnival and we docked at 8am and we were off and on the street by 9:15am is this normal? Any information you have would be helpful. Cruise is May 4 to Bermuda and I am getting excited. Thanks

Welcome to cruisemates: NCL has a great system but remember, no matter how good, if customs holds things up you can be stuck for a long time. Normally we are off by no later than 9:30 or so. If you choose to carry your own luggage you will be off asap. Of course more are doing that all the time so you might just be part of a mess. I still wouldn't book a flight before noon. A few hours at the airport is a heck of a lot better than getting held up and missing a flight.

Enjoy your cruise.

A lot of factors go into play here. What port and how many ships in the port that day are only two of the factors.

Thanks for the information; hopefully it will go smoothly!!! I am looking forward to all the changes in the cruise industry since my last cruise in 2003.

So far, every time I have cruised NCL, I was off when I wanted to be off, with in reason of course. The day or night before the cruise ends, you can go to the "lobby" and they have tags for the time you want to disenbark. It has worked beautifully every time.
