NCL Jewel - pools

I just read a review on another site saying that the main pool on the Jewel had no shallow end (over 5 feet), and that they didn't like it because a lot of people from their group could not swim.

Is this the case? I can't swim and I would hate to just sit there and bake in the sun!

I've been on nine different cruise ships and I have yet to see a shallow end. There is usually a shelf which has about three to four inches of water. Then the main part of the pool with at most a one foot difference between the deepest part and the shallowest part.

That said, I have not been on the Jewel, but I have been on two of her sisters and neither had a shallow end.

Nine different cruises... all with Norwegian?

I've talked with some people that went on Carnival and they said the pools had a shallow end.

The Pride did not have a shallow end and the Glory did not have a shallow end. By mid August I'll have been on one of every class. The Paradise in July and the Victory in August.

Here is a photo of one of the Pride's pools ...

And here is a photo of the Glory's pool deck ...

and one of Glory's pools ...

Sorry, but the Holiday was pre-digital, so I don't have a photo of the Holiday's pool.
