gigarider, we did the Sky last January and arrived at the dock about noonish. We were able to board and then get off the ship if we wanted. As for touring and or the towels. You won't be able to take the towels off the ship at that time, not to mention there are no decent swimming beaches in the area. San Juan is not known for her beaches. You can check your luggage at the dock, get settled and then as I said depart the ship. The best tour which is not held on Sundays is the B Rum factory. Other than that and the forts about the only thing worth doing in San Juan is walking around old town for awhile. This is just my thoughts. We will be sailing out of SJ on Sat the 21st and plan on just getting off the Conny long enough to buy some wine. We too will arrive a day early. You will love the Sky. Happy cruisin.NIta
