On spirit I think it's 7555 to dial. The minute you get on the boat book a specialty resturant by any phone on the wall so you don't have to wait on lines. They will take your booking by phone, but not at the desk via embarkation. There are two parts to the Japanesse..where they cook in front of you..20$ or the other one..I think like 12 something. The 20$ one only has like 3 seatings and very limited..
We ate at cagney's (steak house) the first night and had a 6:30 res.
We had a coupon -buy one get one free- but if you book before a certain time apparently you get 50% off anyway making the first night coupon useless.
Cagney's was fine and one of the few places you'll find a slice of cheese cake!
Italian resturant was free, yes,..but that's because they drape a cloth to partition the buffet..not a resturant setting as if your by the drape you get noise, noise and more noise from the buffet crowd. The food is the same dishes you get in the pasta section of the buffet they just dimm the lights and put a table cloth on the table for looks.
ALL the employees on the Spirit were great and I can't say anything bad about their kindness but if you want any kind of quality food your going to have to pay.

Cagney's was excellent - very good quality food, excellent service.
Le Bistro was very good - good quality food, very good service. Very good desserts.
Salsa was OK. Food was good, service was fair.
La Trattoria was poor to fair. Service was poor, food was fair. Minuscule appetizer portions.
Did not try Bamboo, but noticed it was nearly empty every night.

IM new to the boards. Thank you for the information on the restaurants. My husband and I will be on the Jewel in May, Athens to Istanbul. First time with ncl. )
