Anitapoint...glad you found this site....now if only the others would come on over!! I know that jandj and LEtue wouldn't mind hanging out.
Did you get my listing of the walking tour and pub crawl that I posted on CC? If not, here it is:
I think this is what we will be doing in Victoria, B.C. We won’t have time to actually go into all of the places on the walking tour section and some could be closed by the time we get there, but it will be nice to see some of the buildings.

The above comes from
www.frommers.com the below does too by I only am posting the pubs that are within the walking tour area. And there could be more in that area these are just the ones that frommers has on their website.
And along the way we can stop in and visit some of the Pubs listed below. I think #’s 1, 5 & 6 should be the highest on the list. All of these are in the same Downtown & Chinatown area:
1 Bengal Lounge Ice Cold Martinis & Jazz Government St
2 Big Bad John’s Hillbilly Bar 919 Douglas St
3 Suze Lounge & Rest. Good beer selection 515 Yates St
4 Steamers Blues Bar 570 Yates St Cover Fee US $3.25
5 Swans Brewpub Beer brewed on site and utterly delicious
6 The Sticky Wicket
This is yet another pub in the Strathcona Hotel--but the Wicket is a standout. Originally installed on an ocean liner, the beautiful wood interior--including dividers, glass, and a long teak bar--was later taken to a new home in Dublin. Only very recently--as part of a C$4-million renovation--was the whole package packed up and shipped here to Victoria, making it about as original an Irish bar as you're likely to find. Elevators can whip you from deepest Dublin up three floors to the mini-Malibu on the outdoor patio balcony. Faster than you can say Sinn Fein, that Guinness in your paw has been replaced with a fuzzy navel, and you're spiking and diving on the beach volleyball courts
