=docdance So excited about our first cruise...Alaska on the Star in May of '09. Yes, still a little while to wait, but I'm trying to finalize my room arrangements. We are at least staying in a mini-suite and are considering moving up to the AB penthouse. I was wondering if anyone had pictures of the inside of either of these rooms other than what's posted on NCL's website?
We have many going on our trip and are working on qualifying as a "group" to reap those benefits.
Aside from pictures of the Star's rooms, any info we "must know" is certainly welcome and appreciated.;)

Thanks!!

I've got a picture of an AB suite on the Star. Only problem is, I'm a little (okay E - a lot) behind on my photos. So hold on a minute while I find it, put it together (stitch several photos into one), host in on Photobucket, and then I can post it here ... (I'm working on it so be patient) ... I also have to do research on the Internet to figure out if one of the cabins I photographed is a mini suite ... (sit tight, I'm still working) ...

While you are waiting, here is one of the Star ...

Okay, sorry, no mini suite (I've got three balcony cabins and no mini suite - I don't know what I was thinking). But I do have an AB suite ...

This is 11560 (I don't know why two room numbers are listed - perhaps the kids get their own mini room number) ...

This is the living room from the entry door ...

This is the same living room from the balcony door ...

This is the master bedroom from the master bathroom ...

And this is the master bathroom from the master bedroom ...

This is the second bedroom. The space is so tight that even though I took six photos the coverage was not very good. The couch folds out to a bed and a 4th bed fold down from the wall on the right ...

And the kids get their own bathroom. Again, because the space it tight, the photos don't overlap too well, and thus the stitched photo does not look as sharp (both living room photos are made up of two photos stitched together - so you can see those turned out much better) ...

And finally the balcony ...

Oops, sorry, that is the balcony for the GV. I don't know how that go in there.

Cruiser...wow!! Thank you SO MUCH!!! We're currently booked in a mini suite, and are very much considering an upgrade, as we heard there are a lot of perks. We have many family members and friends going along with us, nas were just wondering about the luxury, the space, and the bedding situation. I can see the queen in the master, and my travel agent said there was a double that pulled out from the wall. Just wondering if two couples could stay in there comfortably. If two couples share the room, it's doable price wise. If we stay in there alone with our 3 year-old, it's far too expensive. Thank you for the post! It is wonderful having these pictures to look at and share with my husband!

I don't think two adults would be happy in the second bedroom, and I think two married adults would be even more unhappy in the second bedroom (assuming that they are married to each other).

This is one of the problems with NCL. If there are more than two, your only suite choices are an AB or a garden villa (which is VERY EXPENSIVE). I was in an AC, which could easily hold three, but NCL would not allow it.

Hum...very interesting. Well thanks, yet again, for the info. Yeah, having that third person does limit our options...even if that person is only 3!
I really appreciate your thoughts on the other bedroom in the AB. For now I think we'll keep our AF mini suite...I am sure we'll be happy. My friend is taking an AB and I really want to upgrade, too...but not for twice the price. (td)
Unless a single inlaw is interested...another option...we'll have to see.
I'm sure I'll be sponging more info soon! Thanks again!!

For your friend that is in the AB suite on the Star, you might want to show them this site. It is the best site I have found for the AB. If you click on the ship tour, there is just about anything you might want to see on the Star. The site was made when the Star was sailing in Hawaii, so they have done a few things different with the layout of the ship.

We will be taking our first NCL cruise in Oct. and it will be our first real suite.
