He8llo, we are going on our first NCL cruise, have been on 2 Carnival and wanted to see if anyone can give me some info. Has anyone recently been on the ship? What can we expect from this line. We are going on the Jan 28th sail out of LA, never been their and going to Mexico, never been there either. So whatever info / tips you can give me would be greatly welcomed.

Thanks,
Shawn.

I will also be on the 28th cruise to mexico on the star. I also went on this ship in march of this year and can tell you it is a beautifull ship. The crew was very attentive and helpfull. The ship has had some sort of problem and can't reach it's full speed so the ports have changed to manzanillo. p.v. matzlan and cabo. have fun and enjoy. maybe I will see you on board

So does anyone else feel cheated that they cannot fix the problems with the ship? We have cruised with Carnival for our last 5 cruises and with Royal Carribean for 3 cruises before that and we chose to try a different cruise line to see if it was better or more fun, but we are already very disappointed that we are stuck going to ports that we have already been to and are not to enthralled about repeating some of them. We are going to make this our protest cruise. So the staff is going to have to be on their toes for our group. We are currently 35 people. We leave on the 12 of Jan so it should be fun.

I suppose it's okay for you to feel cheated and dissappointed about the azipod problems aboard the Star.
NCL has scheduled a drydock in March to fix the problems. It's not like NCL is doing nothing.

But I recommend you getting into a more postive outlook before departing on your cruise. If you leave with a negative attitude before boarding the ship, you'll more than likely will blow every bad thing that happens out of porportion, and have a extremely bad cruise as a result.

The point of cruising is to have fun. Go on your cruise expecting to have as much fun as you can, and you will. Go on a cruise expecting the worse and you will. You must be willing to make lemonade out of lemons every now and then, if not the lemons will sour your cruise.

Don Clark,
Just so you know, the fact that we feel cheated just gives us another angle to have fun with. We normally have Hawaiin shirts that our group wears but this time we have changed it out for our crise club name on the front an the original ports on the back and the changed itinerary ports wil be crossed out with some different saying on there instead. No matter how bad or good the service turns out to be The Hey You uys criuse crew will have a blast.
