Hi there, my husband and I are going on the Star October 12th and we just upgraded to a Penthouse Suite Catagory AC. Does anybody have any pictures ??? I am really worried about the wind on our balcony while we are moving since our cabin is in the very front of the ship. Also does anybody know what the perks are for upograding to a Penthouse Suite ???

Thank you
mini mom

I've just booked the Star for July 2005 and had the same questions about the balcony and the wind if you are on the bow of the ship. Does anyone have any advice on this? Are there wind breaks at the rail and how high up do they go?

I will be in Cabin #8170, Category AE, Balcony Penthouse on the STAR. I have been told by someone that it has a balcony that DOES wrap around and can be used. Does anyone have any first hand information on this cabin or the balcony?

Hi There, I just got off the star on 10/20. We had a great time even though we missed Ixtapa. We had a penthouse suite on the ninth floor in the front of the ship. The wind was not a problem at all during the day, it did get a little windy at night though. It had a great view when we were comming into port.

We had a butler in our room (Arnie) and I thought he was awful. My husband asked him for some tobasco to add to our bloody marys and he told him which restaurant to go to to get it himself. My husband also asked a couple of hand towles for the bar and he told him to use the ones in the bathroom. He had a little bit of an attitude.

Also I thought Alcapolco was awful. As soon as you get off the ship people hoovering are all over you trying to get you a taxi or to buy something (it was creepy).

I thought all the food and restraurants were great except the tex-mex restaurant, but it was just not to my taste.

It is totally unbelievable and laughable that a butler would act sooo huffy. I hope you kicked his hinney to go get you the things you needed. I would have called the front desk right away to complain about lazy Arnie.
Please tell me you did??
When I was on the NCL Star they wouldn't give us robes and we were staying on a balcony stateroom. I had to buy me a robe in one of the ports. I complained over and over but they said it was only for the suites.
I want to book again but I think I will ask first if we will get robes because I think the printed brochure said we would. Hummmm......Maybe I better think twice before booking on the NCL Star because I hear the food quality has gone downhill. I go for the food!!
