Hi All,
A long time ago, in July, I booked a cruise on Glory for next June. I was pleased with the rate I got, my current travel agent (I didn't have one then) says I got a great rate. I booked through Carnival on the phone, matching a rate on Travelocity. I recently read somewhere about a new web site that you can solicit cruise rates on specific cruises. I have now received a quote that is $250 less than the rate I have booked with. My question is this, how would I check to see if the agency that quoted me is reputable? Is it worth cancelling my current booking and doing this new one? The agency is in Orlando and I'm in Atlanta, how would I trust them to do the actual booking and get all the docs to me???
thanks in advance for the help!
Maggie

You can call the Better Business Bureau in for the Florida area and see if there are any disputes against them.. Or call Carnival directly and ask them if they know of this company and will they match the price... What is the name of the the place... I have booked through a couple of online sites. good luck..

My suggestion is to call Carnival, or your travel agent and give them this new price and ask them to match it. I have heard that this can be done. If you booked a guar. cabin, they might give you a big upgrade.

you are still far enough out to transfer the booking, to any agent you choose... if you see a better price i would just call carnival , chances are they wont drop your cruise fare as they told me they dont compete with TA becuase the TA cuts their commission to give you a better price. but you can certainly transfer the booking to a TA and see what kind of deal the TA can give you, the TA will explain how to transfer your booking

I did call Carnival and they suggested I transfer the booking. My thing now is how to get in touch with the FL BBB to check out this company, or find others who used it and can vouch for them.
thanks for the responses!
