Need good thoughts for Morris again, oldest Furbaby

He is 14 bless his heart, we spent most of the night at the emergency Vets ( what a joke that was :bbat: )

Long story but the short version is he has very bad pneumonia along with vomiting which is probably caused by the pneumonia. (Rather than aspiration pneumonia caused by him being sick)
He is very weak on his hind legs and along with his hip dysplasia he is having a rough time of it :(
He has been at our vets all day being treated and is doing much better. I am taking him back tomorrow to be assessed and he may begin oral treatments rather than IV antibiotics
We are supposed to flying to Florida for a wedding on Wednesday and come back Sunday. He is much better today than yesterday and the vet said they would board him for us if we wanted but they don't have anyone there overnight from about 8pm until 8am so I am unhappy with that idea. Although Morris sleeps most of the time now anyway it shouldn't really bother him, it just bothers us :)
My father in law cares for the 'kids' in our house when we go away and he stays here with them but I don't think it is fair to leave Morris with him if he is so sick and unsteady on his feet. The vet thinks Morris will be ok if he continues to improve as much as he did today. We had to carry him into the vets but he did walk out of the vets and he was going to try and jump in the truck, even though he was wobbly on his hind legs :)
I suppose I will just have to assess it all tomorrow! We have to make sure he feels like eating and that he doesn't vomit if he does eat especially if he is on oral antibiotics.
If I need to I will stay home and Phil will go to the wedding alone or I may fly down on Friday just for the wedding. I'll let you know.
Sorry for rambling on, I just wanted our animal loving group to send him good positive thoughts to help him recover :)

Beryl, Morris is a woofer but one of his siblings is a cat who thinks HE is a dog :D

He spent the whole day at the vets again, they hydrated him and gave him more antibiotics. He has eaten a some canned food at the vets today and snubbed the chicken breast I cooked for him! Hubby is just picking him up so I don't know all the details as yet :) He apparently coughed up some blood today but they expected that.
We are going to fly to Florida tomorrow for the wedding and we have 2 lots of good friends who will help my FIL if he needs any help with Morris. I am still anxious at leaving him but I know my friends will be there in a heart beat if Morris needs to go back to the vets.

Thanks again :)

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Morris is doing good.
He is still weak and has another few days of taking two kinds of antibiotics, but he is eating well and has a sparkle in eyes again :)

We had a nice time at the wedding in Florida and we arrived home yesterday evening. My FIL phoned us twice a day with updates about Morris and the other 3 furbabies so we didn't worry so much.

Now we just have to arrange for Guinness the lab mix to have his knee surgery followed by 3 months rehab. :(

Thanks again everyone.

That's good news, Barbara. May Morris continue to recuperate and gain strength. Tail wags from Pucci.
