Need help with a Bahamas offer

I had a relative call me this morning and ask me about a hotel/cruise offer and gave me the phone number of the company giving the offer.

Anyways, the deal is for a 2 night stay in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and a week cruise to the Bahamas for a week for $200 a person in late May. I don't know, but that price sound a little fishy to me. There is no way it is a major cruise line. I asked my cousin, what cruise line? But, she didn't know.

I called the number, but no answer. They say to leave a message. But, I noticed that they don't give their name on the answering machine.

I went to the National Better Business Business Bureau site and typed in the phone number. The BBB had no information. I also look the number up with the Southeast Florida BBB and they had no information either.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Does the deal sound too good to be true? I'll bet you would regret it if you took them up on their offer.bstodghi1 wrote:

There are a lot of scams out there, with exactly those types of activities. I'd pass if I were you.

not a scam...but the cruise is not on a big cruise line...its on a very small ship...that is 200.00 times 2 for a couple...and you most likely have to go to a 90 minute presentation when you go for the 2 nights in ft lauderdale...I have done this thing before...actually, my first time was a stay in florida and the a 3 night cruise on an older carnival ship...that hooked us into cruising and I havent stopped cruising since that free cruise which was 5 yrs ago

My cousin said that the cruise was for a week cruise to the Bahamas in addition to the 2 night hotel stay.

Probably a timeshare thing, where while in FT. Lauderdale you go to a "90-minute" (actually 2-3 hours) presentation. The 5-day cruise may well be a cruise down that last a few hours, stay in a hotel in the Bahamas, then cruise back to Ft. Lauderdale.

We found that is was a Discovery cruise for $200.00 and kids are free. You stay in the Bahamas for a week. It doesn't sound good to me at all. I told my aunt and cousins that this wasn't a real cruise.

I also told them if they want to "keep up with the Jones" and go on a cruise like I did, to go on the real thing. I offered to help them make arrangments, but I think the price tag of the Navigator scared them.
