Im planning a 4day cruise to the Bahamas in June 2009 ,I read on the AAA website that these cruises are full of young people makin for a spring break atmosphere. I do not want that, can anyone confirm if this is true from experience.

I don't think that is the case at all. First of all, anyone under 21 must be booked with someone who is 25 or older so that cuts down on the college crowds. In my expieriences on 18 cruises cruise passengers are very diverse. In June, you'll find young couples, families and older folks too. The median age on a Royal Caribbean ship is about 45. Royal Caribbean is a great cruise. I wouldn't hesitate to book in June...or any month for that matter :thumb

Michael-they changed that age requirement a couple of years ago............

No guest under the age of twenty-one (21) will be reserved in a stateroom unless accompanied by an adult twenty-one (21) years of age, or older. This age limit will be waived for minor children sailing with their parents or guardians in adjacent staterooms or under-aged married couples (proof of marriage is required).

To the OP,It is not only young people on the 3 and 4 nt Bahamas cruises.........its all ages.........it will be a more relaxed cruise than the longer ones, but equally fun..

I have cruised during spring break and NEVER again...........June will be fine................

I've been on four, four night Bahama cruises (planning 5th) and we haven't really ran in to many problems. The people next to us last year got really rowdy, but thats all I can recall in my past cruises.

There are people who do party and get obnoxious, but you'll find that on every cruise.

I am sort of chiming in a tad late on this, but it also seems that maybe some of the other cruise lines (i.e. the "Funships") might have more of that party crowd for the shorter cruises and not so much on the RCCL 4 nighter's.

Hi. I am new to the site and planning our first cruise, a 4-5 night Bahamas "or" and saw this thread. I was interested in the info as we also want to avoid a "spring break" type crowd but I was also curious how you got the little scuba guy for your mascot and how I can get a little scuba girl for mine! : )

We are now doing our 2nd 4day 8th with RCL These short cruises are great for Busy people who need to escape Without the price tag of the family 2/3 rooms Balconies and all that. Not the big ship but big enough if you encounter a party crowd you can go some where else and enjoy quiet. You also might want to bust loose and grab the mic sing a song or dance the nite away.=docdance
