New Falmouth Port

Looking for tips and experience for the new Falmouth port. Has anyone taken any excursions out of this new port?

Ive read mixed reviews regarding safety and cleanliness in Jamacia in general, but wanted some feedback on this new port.

We were in Falmouth at the beginning of March on the Voyager of the Seas. There is still a lot of construction at the pier, but there are a lot of vendors that have been allowed into the pier area to sell typical Jamaican goods (coffee, wood carvings, spices). It's going to be real nice when finished - similar to Cozumel but nicer/newer buildings. We did a ship excursion (zip lining - fantastic) so we didn't venture into town, but heard that you wanted to stay within just a few blocks of the pier area. Things may change as this port develops or not....

Will be there in November, really look forward to it.
Have not decided yet which shore excursion to do, maybe to Montego Bay and Doctors Cave beach where I've been few times.
