Just got back from our Ecstasy trip and we left about two hours late. Ike has just taken a toll on the entire area. It was a nightmare finding a single night hotel room. They've had to man a terminal with very short notice and it's clear that they are understaffed. Many travelers had not gotten the word that the departure time had changed to 3:00 We were scheduled to got to Cozumel, then they changed to Progresso, then back to Cozumel when there was a near riot because of large wedding party who had the bride and groom with them. We returned to Houston around 12:30 p.m. and didn't leave the ship until 2:00.
Don't get me wrong, our cruise was good because I and the BFF are go with the flow kind of people but if your schedule is not flexible this may not be the time for your to cruise from Houston.
Just FYI it's going to take a bit for it all to come to together in Houston. Even Super Shuttle was thrown off guard by the changes. They weren't even sure of where the port was and several different operators told us different things about pickup(The will take you to the terminal. Don't take no for answer and ask to speak to dispatch. Operators have no idea what's going on.)
The area been through a great tragedy is going to take time to get everything and everyone up and running. We had fellow cruisers that still didn't have power.
