The cruise terminal is walking distance of the river walk which is where most of the daytime activities are. Including some food courts, flea market, french market, Jackson square and the Cathedral. There are a number of hotels in the area depending on your price range. You can take a horse and carriage tour of the city, a river boat ride, there's alway Bourbon St, Cemetary tours and plenty of resturants that will put 10 pounds on you just from the smell!!. Do your research on line for your hotel with proximaty of the terminal. The best advice I can give you or anyone interested in New Orleans is to go to NOLA.com. All the information you need about NO is on it. Hope this helps.
