I just read that Carnival has a new debarkation policy called relaxed debarkation. Has anyone heard of this? has anyone tried it? I think I would like it better than the old colored tag system, and maybe better than self debarkation.Anyone tried it yet? viet

we had relaxed debarkation on one of our Carnival ships but don't remember which one. i remember it was new and they were trying it out on a few ships we were able to stay in our cabin if we wanted to and just .... relax. enjoy our breakfast, watch tv .... just relax. I did miss it on the Victory last year. i don't know if it is on all ship now. i know about the Glory in May.

We did this on the Conquest this past June. We ate breakfast and then went back to the room to wait. Everry once in a while the CD would come on the speaker to tell passengers that the line has dwindled.

There were only two problems. First, when we went back to the room, the cleanup people were just finishing up and looked like they weren't expecting us back. We did stay for awhile, but it was very boring. We were probably better off staying by the food and drink. The second problem was that when we did think we heard that the line had dwindled and we went to get in line---oopps, everyone else did the same thing. We were in a line several floors long--- and people kept coming. Now, we did move and got off around 9 or 9:30 am.

You might just want to go eat, get your bags (or take them with you) and go straight to the line.

ps at least we didn't have to wait and then rush with the color system.

Happy cruising

Norwegian allows people to stay in their cabin until their color is called. This is fleet wide and is part of the Freestyle cruise experience.

Last yearon the Miracle we had this. It was great. I highly recommendit. We had a leisurely breakfast and then watched tv while waiting to disembark as we had a late flight.

It sounds good to me. I still want to know if they have it on the Legend? I have called carnival the last 3 day's and tried to get my vacation planner, but she does not return my call's. The carnival phones are tranfered to an answering service. Maybe they are closed on the weekend's? Viet

Viet,
I don't know about the Legend, but we have done relaxed debarkation on our last two cruises, and we loved it. We did not just stay in our cabins, but went looking at the other category cabins as they were being cleaned. It gave us (being non-balcony folk, so far) an idea of what the different cabin sizes and amenities are. Also, our cabin steward came across two bottles of champagne that someone had left, and he gave them to me!!

I think the only way I would plan on doing the self-assist is if I had an early flight to catch.

Thanks for your response. I talked to my Carnival personal cruise planner today and she said that they do not have relaxed debarkation on the Legend. I hope it works out, because I would like to do it on future sailing's. I think that would be great for us. Viet
