Just and update of sorts... We really don't know too much more than we did. The barclayus.com site is up and has the updated seamiles/funpoints numbers available. I've read a bunch lately, since we needed to book our cruise as soon as possible. It appears that you lose your points if you switch from Mastercard to Visa. I have also learned that our CPVP can now book our cruise which they couldn't before. In so doing we are able to take advantage of discounts (seniors etc.), whereas with seamiles you were stuck with the amount they deemed necessary for the cruise. We haven't totally completed our transaction yet....but if I'm correct in what I've read - but it's not been on Carnival or Barclay sites at least that I can find again - ...for every 5,000 points you get $50.We also haven't received our new mastercard yet. That is supposed to have additional information on how to redeem your points with it. Our PVP hasn't gotten hers yet either.CPVPs are working off the same limited information we have...so at the end of our conversation I got a "let me know what happens as you are my first to use the fun points."We are currently waiting for our cruise transaction to show up on the Barclay card site so we can apply our funpoints to it and see what happens - so to speak. Oh...we also called the Barclay's info number they gave us and that the CPVP gave us, too, and they didn't know what was going on either. We think we ended up talking with someone in India but we aren't positive about that.
