Hi Dancer,

You didn't mention which cruise line or ship that you will be aboard, however, most cruise ships have much in common so we can make some generalizations. You seem to be very interested in the food, so you should happy to know that ALL the cruise lines have ample food with several locations that you can obtain food at most hours. For dinner you will have a choice of several appetizers, at least two soups, several salads, entrees including your choice of pasta, beef, seafood and fowl, plus an assortment of deserts and breads. The dining room will also be open for breakfast and lunch. The buffet venue will be open from early morning for most of the day and evening. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs and/or pizza available most of the afternoon. All of this food is included in your fare with no additional cost. The quality of the food is usually good to excellent and you will surely find something to your liking, and you can eat in as many places and when you like.

The beauty shop will be somewhat more expensive than your neighborhood shop, as you are a member of a captive audience. You may find some beauty service sales while in port. Souveniers are available in ports, and aboard ship. They will have port lectures on board, and you can ask about what are the best bargains in the ports that you visit. Nearly all cruise lines have some sort of soft drink card, and If you are going to drink more than 4 or 5 soft drinks a day this may be a good buy. There are usually organized events for teenagers, and there is always the pool area on board, and you may find the beaches in the ports of call to your liking. You will have movies in your cabin, and there may be a movie theater on board. Every evening there will be a show in the main theater to attend.

The most important thing to remember is that you are going to enjoy a very different experience, but you need to have positive attitude and be willing to participate in many of the available activities.
