Hi , my family and I ( seven of us) are making the trek over to the states in September 20th & 27th for two back to back cruises of the carribean .
As a family we have only sailed on Princess previously , but the kids really wanted to do the Liberty. I am open to any and all suggestions for the port excursions especially if there is some must do's along the way .
Any other tips you may have would also be great .
From what I read etc it would seem that RCL and Princess are quite campariable, woudl that be right ?
Is there anyone else either of these cruises ?
Merry Christmas to everyone .

My all time favorite excursion was feeding the stingrays at Stingray City in Grand Cayman. I rank this above swimming with the dolphins and seals in Cozumel.

Princess and RCI are comparable on a service level but, you are on Liberty....NOTHING compares to LIBERTY!!!
She will knock you socks off!

Sting Ray City. Save some $$$ but get a far better experience...give Captain Marvin's a try. New equipment (boats) smaller groups, personalized service. all for a lower price.

In my experience, Royal Caribbean and Princess are comperable in most areas but you can not compare Liberty of the Seas to any other ship afloat. Because of it's sheer size, it would have so much to offer and great for kids (of all ages).

Wow ..I feel really good about our choice of ships now . It does look very impressive from all the pictures etc.
There is nothing worse than bored teenagers to bring the mood down on your holiday.
My husband and I did the swimming with the rays in BORA BORA while on the Tahitian Princess and you are right , it really was the most amazing experience.

You didn't mention that the "Kids" were teen-agers. Royal Caribbean is the best for the teens. "Fuel" is the teen disco, complete with all the tropical drinks (minus the rum). The living room with it's comfy couches and chairs and a big plasma screen TV, video arcade, computer room etc. It's a bobby dazzler :thumb

Yes, the schoolies will have a great time but there's lots for the oldies to do too. Don't miss the ice skating show, best entertainment I've seen at sea so far.

OZ Cruisers - New to Royal Carribean Alaska

My family will be on the Serenade of the Seas to Alaska in August. First time cruisers and can't wait. Read with interest lots of tips/tricks from this website, especially about what to pack etc.

We are coming from Australia and cruise is first leg of holiday so will have to be careful on luggage amount. I note the SS offers tux/ ladies clothes hire for formal nights - can anyone let me know if they hired and if recommended? If not, looks like I might have to pack more and cart around with us after (yuk!)

Our 10yr old daughter is very hesitant about joining in kids club activities initially - any advice on kids club (as we cruise late August, also not sure if many kids on ship).

Also, shop leaves/returns from Ballentyne Pier - on return, is it difficult to get a cab back into the city (Canada Place?)

If you get a chance to Zip Line (Canapy Tour) Well worth the time and money. We did that in Belize.

We cruised 2 years ago on Navigator of the Seas, and we rented the tuxes through the ship. It was a Godsend! They weren't cheap, but came with the pants, jacket, etc, and 2 shirts, so could wear for both formal nights without worrying about getting the shirts dirty. My husband and 2 sons rented tuxes, and it was great. They didn't offer much in the way of ladies clothing, at least not in my taste, but it is worth a look! Definitely worth it for the men in my opinion, though! They were hanging in the closet when we got to the room, and we left them in the closet when we left! Happy cruising!
