Hey , thanks again for the welcome . To the poster who wanted to bring up the Fantasy again ... . It was what it was for me and it is was what it was for others
I have sent the form they give you on board for everyone to fill out to tell of what is good and bad of carnival cruises so , as you say, they can make improvements to service by the various customer comments
As far as Im concerned Carnival has a very good process to get people on the ship ..
I sailed Princess Star also in Jan 03 and I couldnt say how long it took to get on board for everyone because in that ONE CASE we had to FLY to Los Angelos to get on that ship .. and we were late arriving and we were the last to board so of course we "sailed " right on thru that process .
As far as Mexico and the 3 towns we stopped at for a 7 day cruise on Princess and I personally believe 3 ports were plenty on a 7 day cruise for me and actually I did not care to see any of them after the first stop Puerto Valerta ..
One port was enough for us to see but we did get off and stay in town for an hour or so at all of them ... Now some people loved all the ports there in Mexico and that is what I think is great about cruising ..
If you dont want to get off at a particular port , you dont have too...... and if you want to get off , you CAN ...
Mexico was not exactly as beautiful to ME as the books show it to be and I grew up in San Diego so I have been to Mexico before ..
But in that case the cruise itself was the experience ,The Princess Star is a beautiful Boat and Practically brand new so that cruise experience had some bad and some good but in that case I would say the greatness of that cruise far outweighed any bad things on that cruise .. So Ports are not always the reason for crusing ..
On the three day cruise to Nassau on the Fantasy , one port was plenty and adding another one thus cutting the first one shorter than it should have been when we already had lost time waiting for the part to be delievered to fix the ship was not our cup of tea but then again to some , It was an added perk ..
We all are different as I stated and IM GLAD FOR IT .
But on this occasion on a short three day cruise ,we choose that particular cruise to go to one Port and the Port we chose to go to was Nassau ..
YES we wanted to go to Nassau ON A CRUISE which is my God given right to try and do ..
Now to put this matter to bed with a carnival animal folded towel ..
My husband and I have pursued the matter with Carnival and we have asked for what we feel is fair according to what we paid for ..That matter now has become our
personal business between us and Carnival .
BUT just to say this and then let it REST mainly because I dont need to keep on DEFENDING MY RIGHT TO DEFEND MYSELF or my thoughts and My ideas because they dont always agree with everyone elses BUT , and I accept the fact that neither will everyone elses always agree with mine .
The difference Im finding from this experience .. I myself personally am NOT GOING TO HANG anyone OUT ON A LIMB FOR thier IDEAS OF WHAT or WHY they GO ON A CRUISE FOR...OR TELL ANYONE ELSE PERSONALLY ON HOW THEY SHOULD VACATION ...
We are all unique individuals and we ALL DESERVE RESPECT regardless of what we like the best on a cruise or why we cruise or like crusing.....
We like to cruise . And We wanted to see Nassau spending the day and the late evening there in Nassau doing what we wanted to DO ... ..
For this matter to keep being brought up over and over and over of WHY DIDNT WE FLY to nassau if we wanted to see Nassau ..
Well Im going to answer you one last time and then let it drop because you dont seem to understand .. At least
that is all I can figure
Why should we give up cruising just because we wanted to see Nassau and spend a day there? ..
I stay in hotels once a week EVERY WEEK due to work related travel and I really dont want to fly .. IN fact I DONT LIKE TO FLY ..
I dont have any WINGS ( which most people already know )
so we take cruises ... to see what we want to see and obviously somethings we dont always want to see might just FLY BY ... blinding our view ...
Thanks for the memories ,
Sara Lee
