We were told by Norwegian to go to Pier 90 at 55th St. It's actually the New York Ship Terminal at 54th St (at the Hudson River).
Boarding started at 12:30pm. Unless you're driving yourself, DON'T SHOW UP EARLY. The vehicle ramps, waiting area, and sidewalks were jammed solid with arrivals merging with departures. Nothing was moving.
Get dropped off across the street and carry your bags the few extra yards to the sidewalk baggage handlers. Coming home, we got a taxi immediately across the street.
There are two elevators - one crammed, and one on the other side we could actually get on.
Once the line gets moving, it's not too bad. If you have a non-citizen with you, your whole party may be allowed to use the foreign desk. The lines are shorter!!
Establishing your onboard account with a credit card is easier- the 'cash' line was very long.
