Hey guys....

Like I said in my title...I'm a new cruiser...and our first will be on the Pride...5/24
I have a few questions...since it's just going to be my mother and I (15)...

1) Is there anyway I can meet fellow teens....i.e any meet and greets...
2) We're staying on the Verandah Deck....with extened balcony...should we have any problems....
3) We arranged for late seating....is this the best bet....
4) Is there any way we can get a list of port tours....or reviews or recomendations on them....
5) How are the pools and slide.....
6) How early should we hit the main deck....i.e....I hear the chairs go fast....especially on "fun-days"....we would like to be able to get a chair close to the pools....
7) any sports activities....like basketball or tennis....on board....

Ok sorry for so many questions....but I would just like to have the heads up....
any comments on my questions would be greatly apprieciated and any other info on the ship would be of great help....

I will do my best to answer some of your questions..

2. My family had a balcony, and we had no problems with it at all.
3. I have never had late seating, but I think I would like it better because you wouldn't have to rush back from ports to get ready for dinner.
4. If you go to the Carnival website and surf around and find the ship & your itinerary you can search shore tours. www.carnival.com
5. I have been on 3 cruises (2 Carnival) and the Pride had the best pools of all. Well laid out, plenty of room. The slide was great too, not too bumpy or anything.
6. Chairs do go fast, but I never had a problem when I went up to the pool in the early afternoon, even on Sea days. You might not be able to find 4 together, but you could always find one or two scattered around. The deck above the pools always had ample seating.
7. There was a track & fitness center. I know there was volleyball, but I am not sure about tennis or basketball. Everyday in the Carnival Capers it said what activities were available that day.

Hope my experiences helped you! This is a great ship, you'll have a great time! =)

The reply you got answering your questions is pretty accurate. The only thing I would slightly disagree with is your time for dinner. Since late seating dinner starts at 8:15 PM and won't be over till close to 10:00, you might find that you have very little time to "hang out" after dinner. Also, many (most?) families with kids tend to go to early dinner, so you may not find many kids to hang out with before dinner as well.

I am sure you will have a great time. We just got back from the Pride (sailed Mar 29), but left our kids at home :)

thanks barry

Yea that was our understanding as well...
We also are concerend about the shows....do you think we'll have any problems....
we don't mind missing Dinner....i.e.....we're content on pizza...of course we'll make it to the formal.....and most likely all evening dinners...

The only problem with early dinning is that we may have to be on the boat earlier at ports...or have to leave the pool side early....to get ready....

I'll discuss this with my mom....thanks for all your help...

Well, as I said I've only ever had early seating, and it has seemed to work out fine, but some complaints I have heard was about getting back from ports earlier. I have never had that problem, but I know others who thought that was a disadvantage. There are pro's and con's to both seatings!

My 14 year old had no trouble meeting others. There is a dsico that is for tens only until 11:30. They meet there even if they don't dance. We were on the Verandah. Perfect deck. I don't care for late seating but, everyone is different. The slide doesn't go into a pool. It simply ends.
