Actually, there IS a "cleaning charge" = spraying some Febreeze in the room, if you smoke in your cabin. HOWEVER....they can also, depending on the hotel manager's mood, disembark you at your own expense in a foreign country, and you will be out the entire cost of the cruise and on your own to get home. Read the new passenger contracts. Thanks anyway Celebrity!! So glad I you rewarded my Elite Status by banning smoking on my veranda. I'm booked on Oceania and Princess this year. And I know for a fact many other Celeb's have cancelled due to the new policy. Since many Europeans are smokers, and the American dollar is so weak, Americans are cancelling cruises right and left due to the economy, I sure hope the Canadians can fill your ships!I have little doubt if Celebrity was an independently owned corporation, this would not have occurred. But RCCL, being such a high class, "customer service" line...(yes, I'm being sarcastic) makes the corporate rules. Don't ya just love corporations?=twocents
