Nicest Carnival ship?

Forever reading nightmare stories of Carnival decor. If you had to choose, worst ship and most beautiful ship? Also, considering Miracle ship in July, any idea of style/decor and ship itself?

Thanks!

I was on the Triumph last Dec. and this past May and I don't recall the decor being so horrid that I would never sail again. I personally cruise for the atmosphere on the ship, not the decoration.

I thought the Legend was done more tastefully than other Carnival ships that I've been on. Not as much neon and orange and the theme of legends in our lives was carried on throughout the ship.

We've cruised Spirit, Legend, Triumph, and Paradise. All but the Paradise--but especially the Triumph--were like floating ashtrays. We like the Paradise best because it's completely smoke-free. That to me makes it the nicest Carnival ship, regardless of the decor.

Just my two cents...

Every single Carnival ship presently in it's fleet of 20 have been designed by the same interior designer. He is looking for a touch of Vegas in every ship. He likes glitzy and sometimes or every time gaudy themes.

I personally like his designs although I prefer traditional art to modern.

As for smoking, The restaurants are smoke free, the main show lounge is smoke free, I do not smoke, my wife and two of my kids are allergic to smoke but we didn't have any problems what-so-ever. I'm not saying there aren't any problems but sometimes people go looking for problems and make the problem appear larger than it is.

I'm sure some of you: "Ban All Smoking Everywhere (even in your own home) Types will find fault with me but that's how I feel and that's been my experience on Carnival.

I am not a smoker either, and I never had a problem with smoking onboard the Triumph.

i have always found that the entrance to the main lounges and show rooms, are always full of smokers......i have always hated standing in line waiting for the show and having to stand in the smoke......plus my clothes smelled like it the rest of the night.......but elsewhere on the boat smoking was not a problem for me.
As for the decor on Carnival....i have been on 3 ships.......andi find the decor to be exciting and fun.....not chic or sophisticated.......but fun, funny and like a wild dream...just the way i think they want their "FUN"ships to be.........party or R&R......to each his own.

The Paradise is definitely the best of the Fantasy class ships. I loved the Carnival Pride, but have not sailed on the Conquest class yet.

So far, the Triumph has been my very favorite, but I also loved the Fantasy and the Pride. I'm sailing on the Conquest November 2nd so I won't know for sure which I prefer until I've sailed them all.. and that's gonna take awhile since this will only be my 4th. I've no desire to try out another ship -- you know, if the "ship fits, wear it."

Sodey,

My point wasn't to ban smoking in your home or whatever.

My point is that on a non-smoking ship, an asthmatic like me can visit the casino, every bar, and all the clubs without having health issues.

On the Spirit, Legend, and Triumph, we had to avoid the casinos, bars, and clubs because smoke literally hun 2 feet from the ceiling.

Therefore, for my money, Paradise is the nicest ship as well as the best value because I can participate in all activities.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

No neon on the Pride but if nudity bothers you, you won't like the decor. We thought the Pride was beautiful. It's decorated with rennasance (sp?) art throughout. Many nudes. Might be a problem with families with kids but my 2 (ages 12 and14) didn't blink an eye. At least, they didn't around us. There might have been some joking around with their friends on board. I really can't compare the Pride with other ships because it had been 16 years since our last cruise on the Holiday and I can't even remember the decor. Besides, I'm sure the Holiday has been refurbished so parts of it are probably different anyway.

I really liked the Paradise. I was also on the Fascination, and don't really remember the decor because I was outside all the time. Carnival Spirit was beautiful, but I'll never go on that ship again. I had severe motion sickness on the ship, and we didn't have rough seas or anything. I was told that the way the ship was designed for speed, it isn't as stable as the Fantasy-class ships.

All in all, I guess I have too much fun on cruises to have had any real feeling about the decor, though I do remember liking the Paradise. Probably because it was smoke-free.

The Miracle won't be released until March 2004, so there are no interior pictures of her available yet.

I have only been on one Carnival ship, the Paradise, and I would say that it was very nice. With the Paradise being a non-smoking ship, it appears to be holding up much better than other ships I have been on. Smoke takes a toll on the decor on the interior of a ship. Even if it is not a lot of smoke, you can still tell the difference between two ships where one is smoking and one is non-smoking. It is the same anywhere else you go too... take for example where I work. We have a smoking and a non-smoking break room, and the non-smoking breakroom is beautiful where as the smoking break room is not. It has nothing to do with the attitudes or the fact that I just do not smoke, it is very easy to tell the difference between the two. I believe that the non-smoking atmosphere on the Paradise will help it to look better/newer longer. Just my two cents.

So far I've only been on the Carnival Celebration, and to tell you the truth, I didn't even pay any attention to the decor. I've been on ships on all major cruiselines and haven't really noticed the decor on any of them. I just enjoy the ship as a whole and don't really care how they decorate it.

I have only been on the Victory and the Paradise and both were very nice. My personal preference was the Paradise but I did like the Victory. The photo's and the video's of both ships look bad but it is the lighting that was used for the photo's and the video. The ships themselves were beautiful.

I have was been on the Facination, Inspiration and Triumph. I am not a smoker so the Triumph was the best for me. But smoke free would be the best. At least the smokers only smoked in the areas designated for them. I feel they have their rights also. I just enjoy them staying in their designated areas.
