Nightlife on Celebrity

I am an RCI loyal fan and have the best time on their ships. However, I like sailing Celebrity for the service, food and cabins and their new ships are beautiful. However, I have yet to sail on a Celebrity ship that has any nightlife to speak of.

I do not go to shows but like dancing and live music. A recent cruise on the Infinity was really disappointing. We could not find a spot with music before dinner and after dinner it was like the sidewalks rolled up! This has been my experience on my 3 sailings with Celebrity.

Perhaps this is the way it is and there is something for everyone I know.

I would try again if I thought I would not be disappointed.

Any recommendations?

What kind of dancing? We don't dance, so it's hard for me to say what's good and what isn't... but we saw couples dancing to big band type music before and after dinner on Summit.

Disco = No, Ballroom = Yes. We enjoy Piano bars where often dancing is limited. Generally, there will be dancing in the Rendezous Square lounge before dinner on all Celebrity ships. On the newer ships, we found dance music in the top lounge, Cosmo's on Millennium after dinner but until just before midnight. I don't usually make it to stay up much after that. They don't have an Atrium bar like RCI or Carnival ships.

The time of year, destination and length of cruise determines this type of environment. We have been on Celebrity 7 night cruises that had very good night life. Then I have been on long 11 night cruises that have a more elegant night life because it was January and 11 night and the standard crowd tends to not be late nighters. That is the way it was on our RCI Brilliance cruise this past January as well.

Kimmy ,
Are you giving Celebrity another chance? I read your post under Celebrity customer service and you were not sailing on them do to poor service about a refund. I hope you are giving them another chance because the onboard service is really good.

Laurie,

I know their onboard service is wonderful but I have to say the experience with CS was a bitter pill. Couple that with the lack of nightlife I have experienced on my 3 sailings with them and I am right back to RCI.

So, to answer your question, I have four cruises booked currently: 9/11 on Enchantment, 9/20 on Serenade, 2/13 on Majesty and 4/17 on Serenade.

The demographics of the group cruising will determine if there will be a nightlife to speak of. Try going on the ship during spring break you will not be dissapointed.
