A passport is prefered but I think you can still enter the Bahamas on a picture DL & raised seal birth certificate. Everywhere else the Dawn stops on its regular route is USA. If you are going on one of the longer 10 or 11 day itineraries I think you may need a passport. They are good to have anyway.
You can use your birth certificate, but it must be an original with a raised seal on it...
and i was so scared of losing my dgts the first time..lol
get a passport...its well worth the money.
