Noise problem in the state room

Hi,

I'm a first time cruiser scheduled to take my first cruise on board RCCL 'Vision of the Seas' for Mexican Riviera this coming April. The stateroom I've reserved is an inside cabin on deck 4, underneath the Masquerade Theatre located on deck 5.

Recently, from various channels I've learnt that this might be a problem as far as noise is concerned. So I called RLLC for another inside cabin
to stay away from the noise of the Theatre, but there wasn't any available at this point. The only thing they could do is to give me a JS,
but that is totally off my budget limit.

So, I have two questions here : Are VOS cabins soundproof ?
How late the shows run each night in VOS Masquerade Theatre ? If the last show ends by 10:00pm that would be fine with me.

Highly appreciate your feedbacks.

Have never been on the Vision so dont know too much about your particular cabin..........however,I do see availabilty for all categories for all of April........what date are you going?? And what cabin do you have??? You may be able to change at least to another inside, even if it is not the same category...

Hi PH8,

Thank you for your reply.

My cruise will embark on 4/6/08 and my stateroom is #4325, a large inside stateroom. I looked at the deck plan, it is very close if not directly underneath the performing stage of the Masquerade Theatre. If it were closer or just next to the elevator that would be much better.

I made the reservation last December and made a mistake not to choose one from deck 2, assuming a stateroom on higher deck is better than on the lower deck. Now I've found myself in a disadvantage position.

I called RCCL last week and they told me the show in Masquerade Theatre should be over by 10:00pm. But then I've read threads from this forum that cruisers took the 8:30pm dinner and went to the show afterward. That said the show might run later than 10:00pm. That's the reason I posted this message to see if anyone knows the schedule of the Masquerade Theatre.

Actually, I don't think it would bother my sleep that much, because I have the habbit of wearing ear plugs during sleep. But if my wife and our 5-year old daughter cannot be getting a good night sleep. That might ruin our excursions in Mazatlan and PV.

Anyway, many thanks for your feedback and I will keep working see if I can find a work around.

I see the reason why they told you nothing but JSs available.............its cuz you have to have a cabin for 3.......so they were right.......

The shows are sometimes early for both seatings, but sometimes, one show for early seating and one for late seatings......so it is very possible there will be a show at 10ish.....it will be over by 11...............HOWEVER, they usually have a late night comedian at 11 or 12 ish.........

Not sure really how soundproof it will be,but not much you can do about it right now..............except keep checking www.rccl.com EVERY single day(maybe twice at least) to see if another cabin pops up..............it does happen..........even a few days out..........
