Non-excursion fun!

Hey everyone!!! I was just wondering if anyone had any good ideas for fun things to do in the Alaskan ports of Skagway, Sitka, and Juneau that don't include expensive shore excursions. We are not looking to spend a lot of money, but we would still like to see the beauties of Alaska. We have done the White Pass Train ride. Thanks for all of your help.

We enjoyed doing self guided walking tours. Small fees to enter museums is all it costs. Walking is free. And you can get a real feel of the towns.

Everything is close to the docks. Especially Juneu and Skagway if you're not tendering.

I would agree with halfdome86 you can find plenty to do in town by just walking around and many things are free or just have a small fee to do on your own. All the Alaskan ports are fairly small towns so walking around all or most of the town is not hard to do. There are also some different local tour stands that have lower rates than from the ship if you really want to do a tour.
