We have done quite a few HAL cruises.

February 2009 we spent 20 days on the Noordam.

She is a lovely ship.

Thanks for the reply. We have been on 14 cruises most of them being on the HAL mother company "Carnival". We understand HAL is much upgraded in its style. What about thr food? Carnival's food was what a would call acceptable. The atmosphere extremely casual.

We have heard the HAL ships are a bit stodgy (only hear-say). From the outlines I have read it doesn't seem so. Is it on a par with Celebrity? Costa? Princess, Royal. Sory for all the questions we just would like to get some idea or sense of what the experience aboard will be like.

Thanks again

We have never sailed on Costa, Royal or Celebrity.

We haven't been on Princess in years -- we are Elite members with them -- we stopped sailing them because of the bad food.

Some people on HAL are stodgy -- but the majority we have been around -- and we are among the oldies -- have been nice.

The food has improved the last couple of years -- JMO -- what you like we may not like and vice versa. Food is very subjective.

Thats great to know. We are certainly looking forward to expanding our horizons with HAL. We are platinum with Carnival and enjoyed two European cruises with them. This HAL Carribean will be a preveiw for our next Eoro cruise. Once again thank you for your insight.

Probably the food quality and variety would be the only question. I think I may have mentioned before, Carnival food is tollerable and plentiful. I would gladly welcome an upgrade in the quality.

However if you are representative of the type of cruiser we will meet on the Noordam we are sure to have a great time aboard!
