North to Alaska

We are heading north in September this year on the Amsterdam, it should be nice we haven't been in a few years, taking a group of 14 only 6 of us have cruised before. Hopefully I can get in some fly fishing, but with only a few hours at each port it looks slim to none.

Anybody else heading north this year, or thinking about it?

We are taking the Statendam north beginning on June 22. We booked in late September and got a fantastic rate on a verandah cabin. Just finished booking our shore excursions. We are doing a shrimp and crab fishing trip out of Ketchikan; a salmon bake and float plane trip to Taku Lodge out of Juneau; the train up and coach down out of Skagway including the Liarsville gold rush camp and a brothel; and a tour of Sitka including the city sights, the raptor center, and the Russian dancers. We also have a whale watching trip booked with Capt. Larry out of Juneau and plan to go up on the Mt. Roberts tram. We leave on our 35th wedding anniversary.
