We'll be traveling to Seattle in September to visit my son who will be stationed there. After spending a couple days with him, he's actually in Bremerton we thought about driving up the penisula and taking the ferry to Victoria for a couple days. And then back for an evenings visit with the grandkids and flight home the following day.

How easy is the drive up the penisula? What about the ferry? And what are the must do's for a couple days in Victoria?

I guess the ferry ride will have to be our substitute cruise for this year as we just couldn't make one work.

TIA for the 411.

It's a great trip and Victoria has lot's to do. Butchard gardens just north of Vic. is a must see. On the Olympic Pen. make sure you get up Hurricane Ridge for the views and if you come back across the Ferry to Washington consider going around the outside portion of the pen. back to Seattle. (It is further however) Also you could take the ferry from the Island across to Vancouver and then back to Seattle.... or across the Gulf Islands to San juan/Bellingham somewhere I think. Great circle trip. .... done it a few times. (not the ferry across the Gulf/San Juan route ) There is another ferry that will get you from the mainland across to Port Townsend that will complete the circle without having to go through Seattle and a ferry there.
