We were booked on the August 3rd sailing of the Norway and are now looking for alternatives. Unfortunately, it looks like we may need to get to Ft. Lauderdale. Our flights go in and out of Miami and cannot be changed. So, does anyone have information about our options between Ft. Lauderdale and Miami?

Is there a transportation service that we could take from Miami? Any idea of cost?

Any information regarding how far Ft. Lauderdale is from Miami and what transportation options we might have would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

If you are taking another Norweigan cruise line - I would ask them if they have anything. It's only about 40 miles to Ft. Lauderdale.

There are shuttle services between Miami airport and Ft. Lauderdale. They were outside the baggage claim area. The shuttle service has a price per person. Not sure what the price is now but they were much cheaper than a taxi you just may have to wait a little while because they will fill the vehicle used to shuttle you.

Did you book directly through the cruise line? If not, get your TA to help you, or you can contact Lori Cunningham at Skyscraper Tours, I have not used her, but loads of people on this site recommed her. She is heaven sent from what I have read! You can reach Lori at toll free phone # 888-278-9648.

Linnie, I think you suggestion is a bit unrealistic. First of all NCL would not have any type of shuttle from Miami airport to Ft Lauderdale pier as they sail out of Miami. Duh! Even if they were will to pick of the cost from Miami to Ft Lauderdale airport you are talking about time involved and again if they aren't sailing on that day there would be no transfers offered. You are right about one thing, it is not the passenders fault what happened, but the logistics of you recommend is totally unfeaseable.

dear linnie finally a responce that i agree with totally . the ncl cruise line should pay the out of pocket expence associated with this reservation being cancelled as a courtesy . I am so surprised that they haven't offered a hand. really i am not so surprised i am very disappointed about how ncl handled this whole thing

Lara:

We used Miami Shuttle to get to Ft. Lauderdale for our April cruise on HAL. They were easy to deal with and the price was better than SuperShuttle (which is another option). We paid $138 r/t for three of us including taxes. We tipped the driver in cash.

Meg: Thanks for the info.! Does Miami Shuttle have a website or do you have a number for them? I'd like to check them out.

THANKS!
