The NCL Sea is leaving NCL for Star Cruises in July.... In the fall NCL Dream will replace her.... Whether NCL will have a ship steaming out of Houston next summer is debatable.... This summer the Dream has an extended 10 and 11 day Alaskan cruises , and I suspect it will next summer too..... Suspect, not absolute.... as the schedule has not been posted.....
The Dream is sailing out of New Orleans similar to the Sea out of Houston with Western Caribbean cruises..... When the Dream comes back from Alaska this fall to Houston, the Sun will take its place in New Orleans.... Notice that this summer is no NCL ship out of New Orleans.....nor out of Houston until the fall after the Alaskan cruise season.....
IT APPEARS NCL WILL ONLY BEING FALL, WINTER AND SPRING CRUISES OUT OF HOUSTON.....During the summer its ship will move on to Alaska.....
We must face the facts..... The cruise ship industry earns twice as much for an Alaskan summer cruise thån they do for a Caribbean cruise..... With NCL moving into Hawaii with eventually three ships, and with four ships cruising Alaska during the summer, and with one or two ships steaming out of the northeast, that doesn't much to do summer cruises out of Miami, New Orleans, Houston, or even Los Angeles...... The new NCL new Jewel next summer is expected to do a Mediterrean cruise, so don't expect it to do many Caribbean cruises......
