I'm sure that any of you out there who have sailed on Norwegian Dawn and have heard Fabio Zini and his fab guitar will readily recognize that phrase. It sums up my Norwegian Dawn experience nicely. This is a very late post (I cruised on the 4th of July week to the Bahamas and Florida) but I was looking at some lovely pictures from the trip today and felt I had to make my satisfaction known.
I hadn't cruised in years and my husband had never cruised at all. We loved the freestyle dining because it meant we could get a table just for the two of us, every night. We never had any problems in the dining room and discovered that if you went to Salsa or Trattoria for a late dinner there was a chance you could get in without a reservation. For those of you wanting to be on the safe side, making your reservation first thing in the morning is your best bet. I have no complaints about the food -- my husband worried about gaining weight because he was so pleasantly surprised.
I indulged in the spa and found the waiting room delightful. The indoor pool here was also uncrowded until the last day at sea, where it seemed everyone had discovered it. Granted, the outdoor pool area and the private island were packed, but my husband and I aren't avid swimmers, so this didn't bother us too much. All of our other excursions -- Cape Canaveral, the Everglades, the Bahamas -- were first rate and efficiently run. Our cruise was booked solid, but aside from the pool area, it did not feel cramped, nor were there any disruptions caused by having too many kids on board.
As for the entertainment, please make it a point to see at least a smidge of Fabio's performance, if he is still onboard. He is a master! Jean Ayn Rand's Bollyywood acrobatic show should not be missed.
