Maltesemom,You mentioned that you didn't get off the ship in Miami or Great Stirrup Cay and I'm wondering if the ship was considerably less crowded while in those ports and also what made you decide to stay onboard instead. We are not especially interested in Miami, but since we've never been there, we thought we should at least take a short, less expensive tour just so we could take some pictures and say we'd been there. We're not sure how long we'll stay on the private island b/c although we love the beach, we're very fair skinned and can't take too much Caribbean sun. Besides, we can hang out at the beach at home. But this brings up another question ... Can you get on and off the boat at your leisure the entire time you're in port? And regarding crowds, did you find the ship crowded when not in port? And finally a question about Port Canaveral ... Were you glad that you booked this excursion through the ship or do you regret going that route? We are planning to go to Universal Studios (I think -- tough decision among the parks). Someone else mentioned that although the ship doesn't leave port until 10pm and in November the parks are generally open until 7pm, the bus back to the ship picks up at 5pm. I'd rather stay until park closing. I assume if we booked our own transportation that we could leave later. What do you think? Do you know anyone who has done this? We've never been to any of the parks but we're assuming with lines and possible late arrival that we'll need more than a few hours to see everything at least once. Thanks for the info!
