blu816305,Thanks for the info and your support! I go for my radioactive iodine uptake test tomorrow and Tuesday. I should be starting on the thyroid medication by Wednesday. That doesn't leave me a lot of time to get used to the medication before my 11/2 cruise. My main concern is developing side effects while on the cruise -- my doctor says that they happen within the first month. My mother also has Graves Disease, so I at least have someone here who understands and can help me through. But she's on a different medication, so I'm still concerned about that aspect. Cross your fingers for me! Since this is our first cruise, I really want it to be a good one.-Jenn
