We booked a stateroom on Deck 4 - which is the lowest! We are debating whether or not to upgrade.. Do you feel the ship rocking more on the lowest deck? Is it different then from the upper decks???

Welcome to Cruise @ddicts.

Generally, the lower down you are, the smoother the ride. However, whether you are far forward or aft could make a difference. Pitching (up and down motion) is more noticeable at the forward and aft ends of the ship, and the thrusters will create lots of noise and vibration when maneuvering in and out of dock.

If the ship is rolling, it will be more noticeable on higher decks. But don't forget that these ships have stabilizers that reduce rolling under most circumstances.

actually the lower the deck, the less rocking. I would just advise you to make sure your cabin is not toward the front of the ship. We were on deck 4, the Jewel on her first atlantic crossing, I can't remember the cabin number but it was almost the very front of the ship. We heard the achors, the engines, everything. Loved the ship, hated the cabin location...
