Does anyone have links to pictures of the ship (inside & outside)? The website doesn't show pictures of the ship very well.
Anyone been to the Grand Bahama Island - any pictures or info on that?

I went to Freeport in May 2007 on a Carnival ship, I don't really have any pictures I can download for you, but we took a taxi to the shopping area and did some shopping and sat on the beach for awhile. That isn't really one of the most interesting ports I've been to, it's kind of an industrial port. I would suggest looking up tourism in Freeport Grand Bahamas to see if anything jumps out at you. I'm sorry I am not much help, but I noticed you hadn't gotten any answers yet. I do know there are some resorts that have golf courses and casinos if you want to gamble.

Thank you for answering, I was wondering if anyone would. I'm going with my 73 year old mom who can't be in the sun too long. I was wondering about catching a taxi to get a tour of the island but didn't know if that was a very safe thing to do.

Romana, I think you will be docked in Freeport. If I'm not mistaken you are going to Nassau too, if so take your Mom to the Atlantis so she won't have to be outdoors so much. I'm not sure how much it costs now, but you can take her through the underground aquarium if she likes that kind of thing, and there is a nice casino and some expensive shopping. The downtown Nassau shopping is also very good, there are some shops that sell some good quality knockoff designer purses, the perfume shops are usually less expensive then in the states, and the John Bull shop is really nice for brand name high end stuff, like Rolex, Coach, and colognes. Bay street in Nassau has several good stores, Tommy Bahama, Tommy Hilfiger, Dooney and many more if you and your Mom like shopping and get a bite to eat at the Fish Fry or one of the other local resturaunts that serve conch fritters and cracked lobster. Freeport might be a good day to get a few souvineers and go back to the ship for a massage. Sorry I jumped around with my thoughts on your ports, but enjoy yourselves and let me know when you get back how it goes.

Hi Amistad,
Thank you for answering my questions. You are right everyone's taste with food varies. I love super spicy food but my mom on the other hand thinks some pizza's are too spicy and the list of items she cannot eat is much longer than what she can (or will).

I was thinking about the Atlantis thing myself but I was thinking about catching a taxi there and also asking the taxi to take us on a tour of the island (same thing at the Grand Bahama Island). I would love to soak up the sun on the beach but that will never work for my mom and my goal with this trip is to spend quality & fun time with her that she enjoys. When I go with my husband the whole experience is different.

I loved the Royal Carribean and don't mind the assigned seating. I wonder if the quality of service is down because of it - but for my mom she doesn't have anything to compare to so I think she will be satisfied and hopefully have a great experience with NCL.
