Hello-

Where is the interesting places to see when the ship ports?..are the tours worth it? Or is it better to get off and do your own thing?

Thanks.

I leave this Sunday for St.Thomas, St.Kitts, Barbados, Domonica, and St.Lucia.

I'm not saavy enough to post a link to the review I posted on this cite but I do mention all the excursions.

St. Thomas: SHOPPING!!!!

St. Kitts: Brimstone Hill

Barbabos: Folkstone (recently learned the name) Great reef. Narrow beach.. bring 2 beach towels each or pay $5 for crappy sand chair.

Dominica: ???? we did whale / dophin watch. Understand tours booked as "moderate" are HARD / dangerous! Have fun but be careful.

St. Lucia:; land & sea to the Pitons. Very expensive $$$$ but WW OO WW !!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG !!!!! botanical gardens, VOLCANO, catamaran ----- how many times can I say wow?

Check out the ports of call boards too. You are going to have as much fun as you can handle/.

Mike some other suggestions. I think the itinerary is about as good as they get. We didn't do a tour in St Kitts and I am sorry about that. Barbados: we have been there 3 times, still not seen it all. Last time we used Boyce tour company; it might be too late now, but try them anyway. They will set up an individualized tour for you depending on what you want to do and Barbados has so much to see. For a full day and a bit of everything I would recommend seeing the caves: a tour of the city including one of the old Parish churches and maybe a forest as well as Gunn Hill. The beaches are also great. There is just so much to see and the standard of living is a little higher than some places. St Thomas: yes, shopping is the highlight there, but also a trip to St Johns if you want to snorkel is worth the time. Dominica we used Ken and did the ecological type of tour: river trip, rain forest and water falls. Actually it was a little much for one day. What you do depends on your energy level and age as much as anything. Have a great time, if you have any questions you can email me and I will try to answer.

Hi Lisa-

The trip was good..

St.Thomas is shopping..and more shopping.

Barbados and Dominica..I got rained on in the rain forest...:) I was not really impressed with those islands..but we just got off the boat and did a Island tour that was offered from the people that live there and saved some $$. St.Lucia was awesome..I loved it..was gorgeous and St.Kitts was closed..because it was Good Friday but we did do the tour around the island as well.

On the ship..Tuesday night was formal nite and the shows were great!..you need to see those especially the magic act and the Cirque DeSoil..show on Friday nite was spectacular as well.

I believe your trip is the last voyage of the Sky before it is shipped to Hawaii..So you will have a wonderful time.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, I didn't look closely enough to your dates; obviously you are back and my suggestions were just made this morning. Hope they will help others. Isn't it amazing how each of us sees a situation or location. We didn't do a tour in St Lucia, just walked into town and it was the worst experience of our lives:well that's an exageration, but I would never get off the ship in St Lucia again and yet some, like you think it's fantastic. I think Barbados in one of my favorite Islands after Aruba and Tortolla (Virgin Gorda) as for Dominica we really loved it, but not among our favorites. Guess that's why there are so many choices in the world. Glad you got to sail the Sky before she goes to Hawaii.
