I always pack my own soda, and any mixer I want in my suitcase that is checked.  Word of caution tho...either place it in a plastic conainer, or double bag it in zip locks.  I had a can of diet coke leak on our last cruise...of course we flew from Portland Ore to San Juan PR...I am guessing it got tossed around alot!
