Oasis/Allure Cabins 6138/6142 and 6538/6542?

Hell everyone. This is my first posting her on Cruise-Addicts, but I'm a fairly experienced cruiser on Royal Caribbean. We'll be taking our 7th cruise (5 have been with Royal and 1 has been with Celebrity) in December on Allure's inaugural and I was wondering if anyone here could help me out with my question. In looking at Allure's deck plans, I see that theere is a blank space between cabins 6138 and 6142 port side and 6538 and 6542 starboard side. These are balcony cabins and the deck plans show these blank/white spaces as having balconies, as well. I took a look at some recent Allure photos and it appears that these areas do, indeed, have balconies attached to them. I know that a white/blank space often means something like closets, crew access areas, etc., but it seems odd to me that they would "waste" perfectly good balcony real estate on such matters.

I'm confused and just want to make sure that we won't have an inordinate amount of noise to worry about in our cabin in December since our daugther will only be 15 months at the time.

Thanks in advance for all of your help!:thankyou:

Well, here is what I see, the sequence of cabins is ...

6134 .. 6136 .. 6138 .. blank .. 6142 .. 6144 .. 6146 ...

So the blank space would appear to be cabin number 6140 (and of course 6540).

These appear to be the lowest category of balcony cabins. Perhaps Royal Caribbean commonly enters into contracts with entertainers that require that Royal Caribbean provide them with a balcony cabin. To comply with this requirement, Royal Caribbean would not want the cabins to be booked.

Thus, I believe that these are non-revenue cabins that are "hidden" so no one can book them, and they can be given to those that Royal Caribbean is contractually obligated to, or if a balcony cabin becomes unusable for some reason (such as George Smith showing up unexpectedly), Royal Caribbean has a spare cabin it can let the paying passengers use while Royal Caribbean is waiting for Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Raymond Stantz and Dr. Egon Spengler to show up.

Well, you're kind of sort of right in a way. The balcony cabins on the port side are D8, but those I mentioned starboard are D4. So, yes, the port side cabins are the lowest balcony cabins, but the starboard side are not. I have no idea what the difference is other than starboard side they can sleep 3 with a sofa bed and port side they sleep only two. But that's as far as I'll go in agreeing with you.

We sailed on Brilliance of the Seas a few years ago in a JS and our neighboring cabin (also a JS) was where the headliner was accommodated for the few nights he was on board (he got on in one port and off in another). So I don't think that they necessarily house the entertainers in the lowest available cabin.

I do have to say that your ghost cabin idea is an interesting one and that your Ghostbusters reference was quite entertaining, though.
