You can do this. Buy tickets at the gate and take a taxi from the pier. I believe it was only like 10 minutes from the pier. Make sure you take an authorized taxi. JUTA. Should be on the side of the vehicle. These are authorized and you won't get cheated. Just beware of the marketplace when you leave Dunn's River Falls.
