Remember the song Oh what a night?

Oh, what a night.
Late December back in '63.
What a very special time for me,
'Cause I remember what a night.

Oh, what a night.
You know, I didn't even know her name,
But I was never gonna be the same.
What a lady. What a night.

Oh, I. I got a funny feeling when she walked
In the room and I,
As I recall it ended much too soon.

Oh, what a night,
Hypnotizing, mesmerizing me.
She was everything I dreamed she'd be.
Sweet surrender, what a night!

Oh, what a night.
Why'd it take so long to see the light?
Seemed so wrong, but now it seems so right.
What a lady, what a night!

Well here is my version depicting our evening last night. :grin

Oh what a night,

Later September it seemed to be
What a very crazy night for me
I'd like to just forget about this night..

Oh what a night,
You know I didn't even know it's name
The storms here they are just not the same
What a storm without a name and what a night!

I was on the phone speaking to a friend
I heard the wind, a crash and poof all went dim,
I screamed at first and then remembered the wind,
Oh what a night..

Oh what a night, now where is that lantern Mike would say
Let me light a candle to find my way
I can't find the batteries where did they go?
Oh what a night.

The plants are hanging from the limbs of trees,
The lawn furniture is now in the street,
Something is blowing against the window pane
Oh what a night.

Come on Excel Energy where are you?
I can't walk around carrying this dog all night through
The wind is howling and the city has light
But darkness upon us it's just not right
Oh what a night......

The bed is made by candle light
No computer, no TV no sounds to hear
crashing as things bounce against the house
Oh what a night.

We go to bed the wind it doesn't end
I can't see anything least the clock
I've stubbed my toe trying to make that bathroom stop
Oh what a night.

I hug my doggie and sleep with him
then suddenly at 3 I hear the noise
The TV, the fridge the lights come on in unison
I get up foggy and try to remember why this is,
Oh what a night.

I can't wait for daylight so I can see outside,
Right now all I hear swwwwwwwssssssshing winds
furniture, trash and creaking tree limbs
It is cold and dark the winds are strong...
Oh what a night......

I think I've totally lost my mind
Thank God I have my computer again So I sit and read
the coffee pot it works again
so I sing my rhyme

Oh what a night!

Meg we are safe thank You for being concerned. It is just these winds where we live get vicious at times......And so it was a rockem sockem kinda night. It took a long time to get the power back.

Have to go out and see if there are any shingles left on the roof. :lol So I woke up thinking Oh what a night.......and next thing I know I am singing my own lyrics.....:grin

:grin..well guess it was wild..sounds like you got the whole kaboodle for a weather mix..

Mark and I watched TV in bed till midnoc, rolled over.. and ZZZZ.. I just got up.Wendy our black cat walked all over me yowling.. guess she figured I'd had enough sleep, and been ignored since 5AM when I toddled up, fed her, hit the loo, and back to bed..

NOW I have first cuppa in hand,,and surfacing.. maybe your Nascar and nap this afternoon can help..I have DS Stephen with a college soccer game to get too..

we did go shopping for Christmas for the kids.. and cleaned house..we had 6 bags to carry in.. now it's got to be put away for a month before I wrap..

the Prime rib was fabulous.. the foliage is out, and we had to wait in the lounge for 40 minutes so I suffered through a Raspberry Smirnoff..and Mark his Diet Coke. the DD .. so all in all a good afternoon/night..and we did notice a bunch of police out ..Dartmouth Football, and teams around had games..we dropped DS Stephen's Prime rib dinner off it was "to go".. he said it was delish!!..=bite..

That purple owie toe.. get it better soon, and I don't mind storms..I despise losing power..=hugs..Joanne

It was a wild ride last night but we made it to daylight and it is going to warm tomorrow to be 80 again crazy crazy weather here.

Didn't get a sunrise pic this morning the sun was stuck behind these big black clouds but it has risen and is bright..... Plus I was a little afraid to go outside and get hit in the head by a flying trash can or something.......=lolgang

I have to get a big start soon on the kiddos shopping also..maybe next week. Napcar on the agenda.....and a relaxing day.....

Everyone enjoy your day.....

Meg I hope you are feeling better good to see you post.....
