okay got the tux for formal nights, how about the other nights.... is a dress shirt and tie too much???? trying to figure out the packing situation.

We've always found neat casual to be acceptable any other time. Dockers and a nice polo or button up for the guys. Most cruise lines have done away with the "semi-formal" night that made a jacket necessary. If you need more specific info, email me and I'll try to answer whatever.

I wear polo shirts, aloha shirts, light knit turtlenecks, and button downs (long or short sleeve) on nights other than formal.

My husband and son both wore ties and button downs to the other dinners but that's them (neither wears ties for work/school so they sort of liked doing it). Paul's suggestions are good ones for those other nights.
