I'm planning a 4-nighter next April on the Monarch. However no travel site allows me to book 4 passengers in the Junior Suite. Couldn't I just utilize a rollaway bed?
Allthough most cabins will accommodate 4 passengers, the cruise lines are limited as to how many passengers can occupy any given area of the ship so triples and quads are limited by these requirements. It has to do with procedures in evacuating in case of emergency. These limits are set by the US Coast Guard and the cruise lines can get in big trouble if they are exceeded.
I couldn't find one four night cruise on Monarch in April that wasn't maxed out in Jr Suite Quads. OS and GS were available in quads on some of the sailings in April.
The JS's on this ship are TINY. I mean really TINY. There isn't any room for a roll away in them either.
Also, when a ship is reaching capacity, they'll limit the number of third & fourth persons in cabins to control it. We've had that happen a lot with RCI, especially on the Liberty of the Seas for the summer.
Good for you for going for something like a JS or higher. You'll be glad you did. :thumb
