Please tell me that I was just reading old information!!!!
Had clicked on glaxay on a site and in the review, it said the food
had certain cost costing treatments....including ordering only
one entree .
Could this be correct???/
If we sail celebrity next.....my 18 yr old would die after always ordering
a main meal with a piece of chicken or salmon on the side.
thanks!!!!

Forget what you have heard. They will bring you whatever you order that's on the menu. Two mains, two desserts etc. Just enjoy yourself.

I have no idea where you heard that, but it is not correct. It is not old news either, because they didn't do it that way before either. So relax and enjoy :wave

Whew!!! Thank you all!!!!!
I am relieved. I knew I would get the correct answer hee.
Just so you know....I read the info on a internet site and the review was
from Anne Campbell. Guess it proves you can't sail with set ideas.
Could be much different when you "see for yourself"!!!
thanks

At one time Celebrity did make a point of saying in their brochures something about fixed menu's and purhaps something to discourage ordering extra's. I do remember that. In Fact however it's just fine to ask for...... and you will receive just about anything and for sure anything reasonable.

The only thing remotely related to this I can recall was on lobster night on the Mercury, our waiter asked that if we were going to want several tails, to order "up front," so that he could get them out in a timely manner. Other than that, we were ENCOURAGED to order as many entrees as we were interested in. And there were several each night. Burp!

Thinking back to our last Celebrity cruise I remember that my husband wanted something that was not on the dinner menu and asked for it and they said they had it on the lunch menu and they had it for him for the next night as well as others at our table that wanted it . It was tilapia (spelling?) They went out of their way to have this for him and the others at the table plus one night , the lobster night he and a couple of others ordered steak to go with their lobster for surf and turf. Sometimes he likes a certain pasta and orders it on the side along with his meal etc. They have always made it seem like it was not a problem and no big deal, they just wanted the passengers to be happy. I still prefer Celebrity over the other cruise lines, the service and food and so many other things are just great. Oh and we love Cova Cafe :thumb a nice cappuccino after dinner with the Cova chocolate is wonderful :wave

Our last cruise was on the Century 4/17/2004. The 1st night on board 2 of the dinner entrees were prime rib & veal picatta. I love both. I asked our waiter for a suggestion on the choice. He steered me to the prime rib. It was ok, but an extremely thin slice & 25% inedible fat. Certainly not equal to an Outback portion. I was still hungry (and felt bad about my selection) so I asked the waiter for the veal picatta. He was more then happy to bring it out in a flash. The downside was I was so full I could only eat 2 desserts that night, lol. We both felt that the selection and presentation of the food on the cruise was outstanding and the service could not have been any better.
I know you are all wondering..... I gained a total of 5 lbs on the cruise & lost it in a week.
