I replied on the Community section of the BB, Ann.

We had some nice chats with HM Willem in April and he said the ship is coming along just fine. He was on his way back to the ship in Venice.

I am sure she will be sailing long before your cruises, Ann,and you have nothing to worry about from the info I have received.

Your cruises sound wonderful!

Actually [ blush] I wasn't worried. We just returned from a short R & R -and I was getting back into the swing of @ddicts - So I posted!
It sounds like a marvelous itinerary! I was on the Grand [ Princess] several years ago with a group of 45 from Longmont but Dick couldn't go on that one. The itinerary was Istanbul, Kusidasi, Athens, Venice, Naples, {?} another Italian port, Monte Carlo, and into Barcelona. The sheer AGE of things blew me away! Pompei -and OLD city in 79AD!!! Athens acropolis......I want my DH to see what I saw! [ and, after all, we -too- are getting OLDER! {Grimace!} ] The Oosterdam itinerary is quite similar- without Turkey; much to my distress.
We are also sailing across -Boston to Amsterdam - in July on Rotterdam. Life is GOOD! Anne :daisy:usa:CO

Athens, Venice, Barcelona, Pompeii, Monte Carlo......what good times we had in all those cities....and to cruise into Amsterdam is a real treat. We love that city and have had several wonderful (land cruise) stays there as well as sailing in!

I recall sailing into both Rotterdam.....on the Rotterdam. And the huge parties that HAL ran aboard. You cannot believe the way they decorated that already gorgeous ship. It was the 125th Anniversary year of HAL and they sure did celebrate!

Wonderful cruise(s) to look forward to.

Yes; It sounds terrific! We will have 4 days in Amsterdam. I'm hoping to see The Anne Frank house and the Secret Annex........This will be our first visit there. I was a librarian for 33 years; this is opening a world I had only read about!

Hope to meet you in November. We will also be on both Oosterdam cruises. We will also be in Amsterdam for the first time this summer, followed by a cruise from Amsterdam to Boston. Small world.

ATC- I hope so too- I don't think its so strange to be cruising Europe; WE are newly retired [ I retired 5 years ago- DH a year and a half ago] - and we are seeing the world! What a beautiful and easy way to do it! We've been to the Caribbean many times- "done" Alaska twice -the canal twice, once with the whole family....We are READY for Europe!

We will be on voyage #2, Aug 15, Copenhagen to Harwich. Leaving early for Copenhagen, staying late in London. Retirement is great.
