It is in the same direction as chankanaab, to the right as you ar leaving the pier. It is about 5-10 minutes past chankanaab. THere is one main road that circles the island, you can't miss it. If you have time, and a car, after leaving there, continue in the same direction. For a while, about 10-15 minutes, you will be driving thru a deserted swamp?scrub? area. Overgrown vegetation on both sides of the road and that's it. boring and slightly creepy. But then, Kapow! You're on the coastline. Be careful as the road just ends and you hafta make a hard left turn, I mean ninety degrees. no stop sign or light. At that turn, there is a small beach bar which I believe is the only topless area on the island. Not sure what the name of it was. They have a sign that says something like, topless only beyond this point. The gimmick is people posing for pictures next to the sign, and, if you want, they will put your picture in their photo album. or you can just look at the album if you're shy. Probably not a great place to take the kids. From there, you will just drive the same direction along some gorgeous coastline. You can pull of on the shoulder and take pics, but most of the beaches on this side are not safe to swim. Huge waves/currents, and mostly rock, not sand. It's hard to describe, but the waves have created pits in the rock, and caverns underneath, so that when a large wave hits, it shoots up like a miniature geyser like 20-30 feet in the air. You can walk out a little bit and stand next to one of these and get great pictures. The mist will cool you off. Awesome.Post Edited (02-13-04 10:41)
