I need some neat crafty ideas! I just found the neatest Christmas gifts for all my brothers at the Fire Station. Little size 7 kids Carters Fire fighter boots!! They are little rubber boots that resemble our Fire boots, and have "fire chief" and "Rescue" printed on them. I thought maybe attach a little bow, and fill them with a little bag of cookies or something? Maybe make my own fire themed cookies or something? I'm on a budget so I was really excited to find these boots on sale! Does anyone have any ideas for little boot fillers? =huh

Donna you could print this poem out on your computer. Use a hole punch and thread curly ribbon through the hole and around the boot.

The Fire Fighter's Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the town,
The fire siren echoed blaring its sound.
The firefighters came running from far and from near,
And raced to the trucks quickly donning their gear.
And I in my bunkers, my boots and my hat,
Jumped to the engine to see where the fire's at.
Down at the corner of Fifth and of Oak,
The dispatcher informed us of a house filled with smoke.

Smoke poured from the sides, from up and from down,
Yet up on the roof there was none to be found.
So up to the rooftop we raised up a ladder,
And climbed to the top to see what was the matter.

I came to the chimney and what did I see,
But a fellow in red stuck past his knees.
Well we tugged and we pulled until he came out,
Then he winked with his eye and said with a shout.

"These darn newfangled chimneys they make them too small,
For a fellow as I, not skinny at all."
With a twitch of his nose he dashed to his sleigh,
and called to his reindeer, "AWAY now, AWAY."

As we rolled up our hoses he flew out of sight,
Saying "God bless our firefighters" and to all a good night!

Along the same idea of the red hots-they have "Hot Tamale" candies. They are like Mike and Ike and Good and Plenty. Do U bake? If you are adventurous, make some gingerbread men and put those cinammon candies on the body before baking "spelling out" their badge#. Tie the cookie up in saran with red curly ribbon. Buy a firetruck match box car and put that in the boot too :grin

I know that firemen love cookies. But on a healthier note maybe some raw nuts would be good.

BJ! was that your poetry genius at work again! So cute.

I was going to say what came to mind was a beany type toy of a dalmation if you could find one? Does your fire station give out little plastic fire helmets like some of the friendly ones around here? What about a dinky toy or matchbox fire truck....or a fancy hotwheels one...

Donna the boots sound so cute. My primary partner when I was serving was 6 foot 5 inches tall. I am 5 foot 4 inches. He used to pick me up and carry me over his shoulder to be funny. Of course I only weighed 130 then. :lol :lol

His boot was a size 16. My boot was a size 7. One time the guys took a picture of my boot beside his it was the funniest thing. Your little boots reminded me of that contrast!

Judy!! LOL Your boot could fit in his! The pic on EBAY is very similar to the boots I found! Mine have a couple of black and silver stripes around the top, and the toe and soles are black. I will post a photo when I get the little boots ready!
